Educational Catapult Kit
Educational Catapult Kit

Build this catapult kit in under 1 hour (minus glue drying time). Made from high grade pine and oak, the catapult was designed to be educational and is great for science fair projects.

The number of rubberbands that power the catapult can be varied to study force and the arm stop can be adjusted up or down to change the angle of release of projectiles. The catapult arm has four loading locations to experiment with projectile trajectory.

The last large-scale military use of catapults was during World War I. During the early stages of the war, catapults were used to throw hand grenades into enemy trenches. These catapults were eventually replaced by small mortars.

Small catapults, referred to as traps, are still widely used to launch clay targets into the air in the sport of clay pigeon shooting. Until recently, catapults were used in England by thrill-seekers to experience being catapulted through the air. The practice has been discontinued due to the fatalities that occurred when the participants failed to land in the safety net.

WARNING! Wear safety glasses when using this product. This catapult is capable of shooting projectiles with force over 30 feet.

Federal legislation requires the following product warning:
WARNING! CHOKING HAZARD! This product contains small parts. Not for children under 3 years. Adult supervision required.
